There are two types of TestmSE tests available: Independent and Monitored. The independent test is taken and the test results can be seen upon submission of the results. The monitored test is taken under the guidance of an administrator who can view test results. These two test types are discussed below. Independent Test For those who wish to take the tests for the sake of self evaluation and improvement. The results of independent tests are seen only by those taking the tests. To take an independent test, select 'Take A Test' from the main page and go straight to the test menu. Select a test type, take the test and press the submit button when finished. The results will be displayed immediately. Monitored Test Monitored tests are designed for commercial use, e.g for evaluation of job applicant skills or the skills of current employees. Taking a monitored test requires an account name obtained from a test administrator. Use the account name to login from the 'Monitored Test' menu. A first and last name is required as well as an account to login.  Upon successful login, click on the link to the test menu. Note the seconds per question timer value assigned by the test administrator. Select a test type, take the test and press the submit button when finished.

The term, 'Test Administration' as it is used here refers to setting up the test environment and monitoring of test results taken by others.  To administer a TestMSE monitored test, follow the steps outlined below. Set up a monitored test account Set up an account with which to set time-out values and view test results. Optionally set a test timer Set a test timer to be associated with an account. Instruct those taking the test to take the Monitored Test When the subjects taking the test select the monitored test option, they must login with the account set up by the Test Administrator. In addition, the first and last names of those being tested must be input during this login session. View the test results View the test results of those who took the test logged in associated with a given account.

Independent Test If all the test questions are answered correctly, a score of 100% will be displayed upon submission of the answers. Otherwise, corrected answers will appear in a text box to the immediate left of a related test question. Monitored Test Upon submission of a test, a confirmation page will appear. Please select one of the two options displayed below. If you wish to take an independent test, click on the 'Independent Test' button to proceed directly to the test menu. Otherwise, select 'Monitored Test' and you will be prompted to logon with an established account and user name information. Upon successful logon, the test menu will be displayed.
